Luz Zareth Moreno Basurto holds a Ph.D. in Communication Research from Universidad Anáhuac Norte. She has a Master’s degree in Applied Ethics and a Master’s degree in Education with a specialization in Communication from Tecnológico de Monterrey. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences. She is a Level 1 member of the National System of Researchers.
She is the co-author of the book El modelo comunicativo: teóricos y teorías relevantes, published by Trillas in 2006. Her publications focus on educational communication, communication and the development of reading skills, and communication and ethics.
She served as the Director of the Department of Ethics and Citizenship, the Institute for Sustainable Social Development (IDeSS), and the Department of Human Formation and Meaning, all at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Morelia Campus.
She has coordinated various academic and social projects, including the Congress on Ethics and Citizenship at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Morelia Campus; the Patsari Model Efficient Wood Stove Project in collaboration with the ECOLIFE Civil Association and students from Tecnológico de Monterrey; the design, organization, and execution of the educational project Editathon: Women of My Region on Wikimedia Commons; and BookCreativeLab with beneficiary families of the Mese Civil Association in Morelia, Michoacán. She also served as coordinator of the Writing Center at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Morelia Campus.
Currently, she is a professor in the Communication Bachelor’s program at Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo in Morelia.
